Management of work-related road safety

What is work related road safety?

All companies have a legal "duty of care" to ensure that their staff are able to carry out their tasks in a safe environment. Recent government focus has extended this duty beyond the office, shop and factory floor to include any vehicle being driven on company business.

The recomendations are that all staff should be assessed to ensure the following:

The RiskMaster programme provides strict driver compliance disciplines beginning with the application and then continuously as driver performance is measured. In-built parameter-driven processes will provide you with dynamic visible management information necessary to effectively discharge your health and safety responsibilities.

Regulate who can drive for your company

The programme issues your drivers with a Permit to Drive through an online application process that includes a driver's risk profile assessment and document verification. Only drivers with a valid Permit are allowed to drive either a company-provided vehicle or any vehicle on company business.

Keep informed about your drivers' performance

The programme collects information about drivers and vehicles, including traffic offences, vehicle abuse, accidents, insurance, driving licence, maintenance and so on. The system processes information and then produces an up-to-date driver operating life report for management appraisal and/or intervention such as in-car assessments or driver training.
