One month to go – the talking’s over!

There is now only one month to go before the new Corporate Manslaughter & Corporate Homicide Act comes into force on 6th April. Over the last few months I have explained how the new legislation could affect you*. In particular I have tried to show how the new law makes it imperative for anyone charged with managing a company’s work-related road safety to have robust and auditable systems in place should a fatality occur.

Has your company given you the right tools for the job?

If you are the one responsible for managing your company’s work-related road safety, your employers must allow you to perform your duties properly. If not, they – as well as you – will be in the firing line if an investigation shows a death has resulted through any management failure. That means it is up to you to ensure systems are in place to reduce the risks your drivers and other road users face. Ignorance is no defence and doing nothing is not an option.
